Data & GIS Systems Engineer
We are looking for a data scientist with expertise in Data & GIS Systems to support both consulting projects and the development of our City Digital Twin (CDT) platform. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applications and databases, focusing on spatial data management, analysis, and visualization to support urban decision-making (e.g., in urban design, economic strategy, innovation & research, mobility, and housing & quality of life contexts). This role is ideal for someone who has strong technical expertise in geospatial database creation and management, can work independently in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about creating real-world urban products. Key Responsibilities - Collect, clean, and process geospatial and non-geospatial data. - Manage spatial databases (PostGIS, Oracle Spatial, etc.). Design, develop, and maintain GIS applications and infrastructure. - Integrate GIS with other data systems (databases, APIs, cloud services). - Optimize spatial databases for performance and scalability. Automate data workflows using scripting languages (Python, SQL, etc.). - Develop interactive web-based GIS applications. - Deploy GIS solutions on cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure). Qualifications: - Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Urban Analytics, or a related field (Master’s a plus but not required). - 2+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or modeling in urban or related fields. - Strong Python skills (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or similar). - Experience with geospatial analysis & GIS tools (ArcGIS, QGIS, GeoPandas, PostGIS). - Experience with cloud-based data management (Google BigQuery, AWS, or Azure). - Ability to understand how data translates into insights about urban and economic recommendations for cities across the world. - Fluent in English; Spanish is a strong plus.
Urban Data Scientist
We are looking for a data scientist with expertise in urban analytics to support both our consulting projects and the development of our City Digital Twin (CDT) platform. In this role, you’ll be responsible for designing robust data pipelines, documenting analysis workflows, and building predictive models that inform real-world city planning decisions.
